when broadcasting this along with bitrate matters more, as you want to squeeze as much quality in that bitrate, but with the crf mode, you'll use as much disk space as needed to keep that quality factor consistent throughout the video, so one second may use 1 MB, the next second may use 100 KB. the quality is controlled by the crf number. since it's constant quality mode (crf), this just controls how much cpu it's used to compress the same quality, so higher presets only reduce the amount of disk space, don't keep more quality. Videos encoded with 0 may not be decoded by your editor as they may be saved by x264 in a "lossless mode" which not all decoders support it.Ĭpu usage preset : you can use superfast. start with 10 and then test to see if you notice better quality with a lower number. Set rate control to crf (constant quality without caring of bitrate, opposite of what you want when streaming)Ĭrf : set to let's say 10 or less. You will get sharper image and better quality. use x264 software encoder with an optimized preset for recording, instead of gpu (nvenc or whatever). Are you referring to these settings or what?ĬPU: Intel i5 2500k 4 Cores, 4 Threads 4.5ghz ( asus uefi regulates BIOS and adjusts it, there is no manual option, so I can't get any higher than 4.5, but I theoretically should be able to get higher once I get a voltage "changeable" mobo I record Minecraft all the time using OBS. The image quality of the recorded gameplay is like washed out or something, there's loss of vibrance, of colors, I dont know how to put it.Ĭould you share the optimal settings for 1080p 60fps? (which does not ruin people trying to watch it in YouTube, as in, requiring a ton of bandwith causing constant buffering. Even if im recording at 60fps in OBS settings, its not as smooth as ingame.

The mouse movement is somehow not smooth. Trying my new computer (3950x) which has a f*ckton of horsepower, gets 100+ FPS in Minecraft with shaders while recording, but im dissapointed with the end result:
